SMS Notification Program

Your property manager uses RentalRelay to communicate with tenants via text message (SMS). This service allows you to receive important property updates, maintenance confirmations, and urgent alerts directly to your mobile phone.

What Types of Messages Will I Receive?

  • Maintenance updates โ€” status of repair requests, scheduled maintenance, service appointments
  • Lease reminders โ€” rent due dates, lease renewal notifications, document requests
  • Property information โ€” parking rules, trash schedules, building updates, amenity reservations
  • Urgent alerts โ€” emergency maintenance, utility shutoffs, safety notifications
  • Two-way support โ€” responses to your questions and requests
Message frequency varies depending on your property needs and requests โ€” typically 0โ€“10 messages per month, more during active maintenance issues.

How to Opt In

When your property manager adds you to RentalRelay, you'll receive an SMS opt-in invitation from the property management number that looks like this:

"RentalRelay: Hi [Your Name] โ€” [Your Landlord] just added you so you can text maintenance, rent & lease questions to this number anytime. Reply YES to start. STOP to opt out, HELP for info. Msg/data rates apply."

Reply YES to that text to activate notifications. You will then receive a welcome confirmation:

"You're opted in to RentalRelay, [Your Name]! Text this number for maintenance, lease questions, or emergencies โ€” we reply in seconds. You'll also get a monthly rent payment link from [Your Landlord]. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for info. Msg freq varies, msg/data rates apply."

Alternatively: You can initiate contact at any time by texting the property management number with a question or request. By sending an inbound message you consent to receive SMS replies from RentalRelay on behalf of your property manager.

How to Opt Out

You can stop receiving messages at any time by texting STOP to the property management number.

Your carrier (via Twilio) will deliver a standard unsubscribe confirmation, and we will immediately stop sending you messages from RentalRelay.

You can opt back in at any time by texting START or HELLO to the property management number.

  • No Marketing: RentalRelay only sends transactional property management notifications. We do not send marketing, promotional, or third-party advertisements.
  • Your Data: We do not sell or share your phone number or message history with third parties.
  • Consent is Optional: You are not required to consent to SMS notifications as a condition of your lease. However, opting in helps you receive timely property updates.
  • Unsubscribe Anytime: You can opt out at any time by texting STOP. This will not affect your lease agreement.
